You thought Pioneer’s Kuro TVs were a plasma-only affair? You’d be right, until now. The company just gave us a sneak peek at their LCD range.
Showing off its new G9 plasma screens at a press conference this morning, Pioneer is right to be confident of Kuro’s success in LCD too. The new generation push black levels further than ever before. Images seem to leap from the screens, with colour ranges so impressive they put other TVs in the room to shame.
And Pioneer’s boffins say their LCD versions will mirror its Plasmas in performance.
Packing 1080p panels, the new LCDs have the same anti-reflective filters as their plasma-packed cousins, feature three HDMI 1.3 sockets and come in 32, 37 and 46 inch versions.
A new-look black aluminium finish tops the package off, and we’ve heard a whisper there’ll also be a white version later in the year.
Out August | £TBC
