Nokia N95Wow – Nokia’s really on the ball with this game transfer hoo-ha. We hear they’re already working on a fix to allow gamers to keep their purchases when they upgrade to a new handset.

According to Nokia’s Conversations blog “a fix is in the works for the recent N-Gage games transfer situation.”

There’s no word on when it’ll arrive, although it seems that Nokia’s customer care division will handle individual cases at first, while a more permanent fix is developed.

As it stands, gamers can transfer their profile and associated information to a new handset, but due to piracy issues, not the games.

That problem seems well on the way to being solved though, and could even kick start a change in the way digital rights for other games and mobile apps are handled.

Sterling work Nokia, it seems you’ve found a silver lining in a particularly black cloud!
