Epson e-ink, fueling the comics of the futureWe can’t wait for the day when our newspapers are digital. We’re talking proper e-ink, with high-resolution pictures and animated graphics. And that day just rolled a little closer, thanks to Epson’s new e-ink.

On show at the SID 2008 conference, Epson’s A4-sized display packs in 3104 x 4128 pixels for a resolution of around 385 pixels per inch. That’s enough to make it look like a real printed image, rather than a slightly grainy display.

Because it’s digital paper, it has the potential to be bendable too, and has a low reflection rating, so it’s easy to read outdoors.

All very good Epson, but we’d like it in colour now please, and on our doormat by 7am.
