Christian Dior wants a bit of that high priced phone action

If it’s good enough for Armani and Prada, then it’s good enough for Dior as well apparently. The luxury goods label will be unveiling a new range high price handsets starting at $5,000.

Of course, if you’re the target market the price tag isn’t important. Neither probably is the specs, or what the thing can actually do. It’s all about being seen with the right toys. Makes the iPhone look a comparative bargain even with the 18-month lock in.

According to Dior it’s a bit like its jewellery and watch lines. And there we were thinking it was all about how fast your downloads are, how many gigabytes of storage you’ve got and whether you can stay logged in to Facebook 24/7.
