The last time we saw someone hit reverse this hard, they shattered their gearbox. Intel just pulled a U-turn of gargantuan proportions on its claims that there’s a Mac Tablet in the works, and that it’ll come packing an Atom processor.
According to the chip-maker, it’s German CEO was just thinking aloud about the possibilities for Atom, speculating on its future uses and definitely not saying Apple’s making a Mac Tablet. Got that? Intel says they’re NOT. So it must be true.
Of course, Intel’s not the only rumourmonger in town, and there are still plenty of others theorising about a touch-screen Mac.
Whatever the outcome, we’ll know in a couple of weeks when Steve Jobs kicks off WWDC. Until then, we’ll keep taking the tablets.
