When Apple flicks the switch on its iPhone App Store some of the first apps available will be from Google, the search giant says. It’s been working on them for months, and reckons it’ll be ready with a load of new toys “at day one”.
That’s according to Vic Gundotra, Google’s vice president of engineering. He’s told Macworld that the iPhone is “the pre-eminent phone in the world,” and Google has every intention of ploughing its apps on board.
But precise details on what Google will offer are scarce. We’d love to see Google Earth on there, and a dedicated Blogger app could come in very handy.
Best of all though, would be full blown support for Google Docs, letting us access our files anywhere, any time, edit them even when offline and have them instantly synced to the web. Are we dreaming? Let us know in the comments section below.
