Sony has just unleashed the newest PS3 firmware update, pushing software version 2.35 down the broadband lines of giddy gamers. So what does it do? Give Freeview access? Prep your console for the belated PlayStation Home? Enable the PS3’s secret time-travel capabilities?

Apparently it’s nothing to do with the bugs hitting GTA, which had an earlier fix from Rockstar, though some gamers using 60GB PS3’s are still having minor problems.
Still, it beats dealing with the red ring of death that continues to dog Xbox 360 consoles….
