Sling Media’s new SlingmodemNot content with blasting your TV to your laptop, mobile or any other device over the internet, Sling Media just unveiled the SlingModem, an all-in-one internet and TV receiver, plus Slingbox!

Available in the US later this year, the SlingModem will be provided by cable companies. All it needs is to be hooked into the wall and it’ll receive internet and TV signals. Because it instantly has access to both, it can then funnel pictures back out of the house to whatever connected device you’re using on the road.

The word “simple” doesn’t really do it justice. This is nothing short of genius!

Echostar is will be the first cable firm to offer the SlingModem later this year, but loads more are sure to follow.

There’s no word on when (or if) it’ll hit Britain, but we’re already itching for a place-shifting system this simple. Please, Sling Media? Pretty please?
