Sky logoSky’s on-demand service just changed its name to the not-entirely-unfamiliar-sounding Sky Player, as well as adding live TV from Sky News and Sky Sports.

The new naming (which we’re sure the BBC is less than pleased about), is designed to make it dead clear what you’ll get from Sky’s on-demand service.

As well as adding live TV streams, the new Sky Player introduces progressive downloads, so you can start a movie or TV show downloading and watch it before it’s finished. Sky Player is free to access for all Sky customers.
