The cat’s out of the bag. The CEO of Intel’s German operations just confirmed there’ll be an Atom processor inside a larger, tablet-sized “version of the iPhone”.
Adding fuel to the already raging rumour fire, Hannes Schwaderer told ZDNet’s german site that the new device would be larger than the current iPhone, but that its extra size would be due to its bigger screen, rather than Intel’s more powerful chip.
We’ve already heard rumours of a tablet roughly 50% larger than the iPhone, packing a 720×480 pixel multi-touch screen, and this latest info nugget seems to confirm it.
ZDNet are with us in our prediction of a surprise Tablet Mac announcement during WWDC next month. Fingers crossed Mac fans. Fingers crossed!
