It seems AT&T is resorting to rationing to cope with iPhone supply issues. A leaked memo shows the company’s now limiting customers to buying just one handset at a time.
Reported by Appleinsider, it’s yet more evidence (as if we needed it) that a 3G iPhone is imminent. The memo says that, from today, “customers can only purchase one iPhone at AT&T stores. The prior limit of three iPhones is no longer in effect.”
It’s a surprising move, since we’d expect them to be offloading as many current-generation iPhones as possible before the next version arrives and kills demand stone dead. Maybe AT&T is spinning out its supply because the 3G version isn’t quite as imminent as everyone expects?
Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you posted on any and all iPhone news.
