The 3G iPhone’s so close we can almost smell it. Now the chief exec of O2’s parent company has let slip it’s planning a joint announcement with Apple in the next few weeks.
Speaking at a financial meeting, Matthew Key, CEO of O2 owners Telefonica Europe, said a 3G iPhone was “more of a question for Apple… but over the coming weeks we will do a joint announcement with Apple as Telefonica Group.”
It seems Apple’s struggling to keep a lid on news of the 3G iPhone. What with the Swiss, Italians, Taiwanese and now our own O2 letting the cat out of the bag.
Still, if there’s a joint announcement on the cards, it could mean a 3G iPhone is out of the question for WWDC. In which case, there’s still a chance Steve Jobs could launch the company’s first Tablet Mac. Stay tuned for more as we hear it.
