They obviously can’t wait eitherThe latest musical murmurs coming out of the gaming world suggest the next version of Guitar Hero could feature (wait for it) other instruments.

According to game addicts at Game Informer, Guitar Hero will follow in the successful footsteps of Rock Band and give strummers the chance to rock out on the Bass and a six-piece drum kit, complete with cymbals. And mercilessly, a microphone.

On the playlist is the chance for aspiring rockers to create their own tracks and share them online. Whether we’ll be able to sync our Rock Band kit with the new Guitar Hero for mass jamming sessions is unknown.

Guest appearances confirmed for the end of year Playstation and Xbox 360 release include Van Halen, The Eagles, Sublime and Linkin Park.

Our hands might still be mangled from post-pub marathon Guitar Hero sessions but we can hardly wait.
