Grab one of Elgato’s satellite tuners, and your Mac will be all set to suck up free telly through a dish!
The company just updated its EyeTV software, adding support for H.264, which is the system used to broadcast the free satellite service. All you’ll need to do is grab an EyeTV 310 box, connect one end to a Mac, and the other to a dish to enjoy free TV.
The new software also improves support for subtitles in QuickTime exports, so they’ll appear when programmes are watched on iPhones, iPods or Apple TV.
Meanwhile, Swedish TV fans can now enjoy an Electronic Programme Guide as part of the new software.
