It’s been a big day for BlackBerry. First the e-mail magnates slipped us a brand new phone, then dished up $150 million in development bounties, and now they’ve announced a tie-up with Microsoft to get Windows Live on their handsets.
We’re talking neat integration of Windows Live Hotmail and Messenger. It means you’ll only need to tap in your username and password once, and everything will be kept up to date between the web and your phone.
BlackBerry owners using the service will also get a dedicated inbox for Hotmail messages, which are automatically delivered to the smartphone.
Tap into Messenger, and you’ll be able to send instant messages and join group chats, set your status, save conversations and even send and receive pictures and files.
Due in the summer, all BlackBerry devices will get the Live treatment absolutely free, but for maximum posing potential, you’d be best off with the brand-new BlackBerry Bold.
