bioshock.jpgIt’s frightened the pants off us in our own living rooms, and soon it’ll do the same to hundreds of people in cinemas nation-wide. BioShock’s becoming a movie.

2K Games has announced it’ll be bringing the shooter to the silver screen in partnership with Universal Pictures, who have lined up Gore Verbinski, director of all three Pirates of the Caribbean films, to make sure it’s sufficiently underpant-dampening.

We’re still waiting for a firm release date, but with BioShock’s sequel due to hit consoles next year, we’re hoping it’ll be sooner, rather than later.

What do you reckon? Does BioShock have what it takes to become a decent flick, or will it go the same way as Doom, Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros? Let us know in the comments section below.

If ever a game was suited for a filmic makeover it’s Bioshock with all its pantomime neo-noir styling, awesome propaganda and Big Daddies! On that note, did they ditch the Halo movie btw? Wasn’t someone big, like Peter Jackson going to do that at one point?
