The thumb-twiddling game addicts at Joystiq are reporting that the forthcoming Ghostbusters game will let Wii owners hook up a DS to their console using its Wi-Fi connection, then use it as an in-game PKE Meter to sense ghosts sneaking up on them.
The inclusion of DS functionality harks back to the few Nintendo Game Cube titles that used connected Gameboy Advance handhelds to beef up the action or provide special skills.
This time, however, we’ll be using Wi-Fi instead of cumbersome cables.
Add that to the news that Ghostbusters will use the Wii’s remote to control a proton pack, and we’re in 80s nostalgia heaven! All we need now is a way to use the nunchuck to sling a trap underneath unsuspecting spectres, and we’re all set!
