Taiwanese manufacture Foxconn Electronics has been told to get ready for June launch for the 3G iPhone. The company, which already makes the current iPhone for Apple, has landed orders for the second generation model according to the Chinese paper Commercial Times.
Component suppliers have apparently been told by Apple to begin preparing the necessary parts to make the new model by the end of May. The paper expects three million 3G units to ship in June and a total of 24-25 million over the product’s life.
There’s been no confirmation from Apple about when it intends to launch a 3G handset, but a June launch would tie in with its Worldwide Developers Conference and also be around the one year anniversary of the original iPhone.
