Nintendo must be delighted by the Wii’s unceasing popularity, but on top of the news today that Wii Fit has sold out on its first day of release, the continued shortage of consoles is, as they might say on the Mighty Boosh, an outrage. Amazingly, even though production in Japan has been ramped up several times, the little white consoles are still absent from many shops, especially in North America, where 40% of the finished products are destined. Apparently, the average Wii sits on the shelf for just one hour before it’s snapped up by an eager customer.
