Nokia’s new Comes With Music offering is increasing in awesomeness by the minute. The mobile firm just announced it’s signed up Sony BMG to give new Nokia owners unlimited music downloads when the service goes live later in the year.
The service, which will be bundled with a select few phones when it goes live later this year, will let Nokia owners download as much music as they like within 12 months of buying their phone, and the music is for keeps, even after a year.
Announcing the deal, Thomas Hesse, head of Sony BMG global digital division, said: “Comes with Music will literally open Sony BMG’s legendary vault and enable Nokia owners to experience as many recordings from our legendary artists as they like. It will make the mobile phone the music player of choice.
“The initiative will be a boon to regular music consumers, but more importanly it will help people discover new artists and types of music, and songs are yours to keep - even if you purchase a new phone or computer, you’ll be able to transfer them to that new device. Songs are yours for life.”
It almost sounds too good to be true, but it’s the real deal, Nokia are still signing up more music labels to provide songs, and you’ll be able to enjoy it before the end of the year with selected handsets.
