Nokia’s just unleashed two new XpressMusic mobiles, the 5320 and 5220. Designed to be a bargain, put packing some pretty impressive specs.
The Nokia 5320 XpressMusic is a 3G candybar, packing a brand new voice-controlled Say and Play feature. It’s a super-smart voice recognition system that lets you say the name of a track to start it pumping, rather than fiddling with menus and playlists. It’ll also work with artist names too.
As you’d expect, the phone has dedicated music keys too, and a proper 3.5mm headphone socket so you can use your own cans.
Inside there’s a beefy 24 hours of playback time, and a memory card slot extendable up to an iPod nano-threatening 8GB.
As well as music, the 5320 has dedicated N-Gage gaming keys, so you can play top-notch titles in landscape mode in console quality.
The 5220 XpressMusic packs fewer bells and whistles, but comes clad in a quirky asymmetrical shell. There’s also a nifty built-in lanyard, so the phone’s easy to carry. Elsewhere there’s the same 24 hours playback time, dedicated music keys and headphone jack as the 5320.
We’ll be getting a hands-on with the new mobiles later today, so stay tuned for video close-ups this afternoon.
