It’s not quite a thin as Sony’s barely there LCD prototype, but Comet is touting its upcoming Hitachi set as the slimmest in Europe.
The 32in model has a profile of just a 35mm, excluding the bezel, making it around one third the thickness of a regular flatscreen TV. Granted, it’s not like LCDs are so thick people keep bumping into them around the home, but anything that makes them look sleeker is to be welcomed.
It’s not just thin, though, it’s light too weighing in at a mere 10.9Kg, so if you’ve been working out you won’t need to get a mate round to help you install it.
Out May 2008 | £1,300
