Throw away phones have been in the US and Far East for a while, but now they’re hitting Britain. Don’t expect them to challenge the iPhone for swankiness though, these £10 telephones pack plastic shells and even lack a screen.
They’re designed as backup or emergency devices, but we reckon they’d be just as good for kids with penny-pinching parents. Heading here in the next few weeks, manufacturer Hop-on says it’s had orders for more than two million £10 phones in two weeks from European phone firms. Expect to see them on the high street soon.
