It’s good news for fans of very small, very cheap laptops: Asus’ second-gen Eee PC has been given an official launch date and price. The Eee PC 900 will be hitting the UK on 1st May, priced at £329.
The new model is a similar size and weight to its predecessor, but Asus has squeezed a bigger screen (8.9-inch as opposed 7-inch), doubled the RAM to 1GB and boosted the storage space to 20GB of solid state memory. Battery life is a generous 3.5 hours, and the operating system remains a super-simple Linux - although buyers will be able to upgrade to Windows XP for extra bucks.
