Good news for coffee and Internet addicts: now you can get an injection of free Wi-Fi when you go for your next caffeine fix at Coffee Republic. A wireless broadband connection while you sip watery coffee has been a carrot dangled by all of the globalising coffee chains, but until now, none could resist the urge to charge through the nose for it.
Thankfully, most branches of Coffee Republic displaying the hotspot symbol will now be providing a “free” connection to all of its paying customers - as long as they don’t mind sitting through a few coffee-related adverts on the sign-in page. The company has calculated that this could save the average paying hotspot surfer up to £234 a year! Significantly, the research doesn’t say how much your annual coffee bill is likely to be.
