Asus has just revealed its latest computer - and it’s a bit of a departure from the super-cheap, super-accessible but pretty low-powered Eee PC laptop.
The Essentio CS5110 is a hi-gloss media PC designed to bring a generous helping of movies, games and music to your lounge. It spins hi-def Blu-ray discs, hooks up to your HD telly with an HDMI lead, wirelessly sucks music from your mobile phone via Bluetooth and can be fitted with up to a terabyte of storage.
One thing the Essentio CS5110 does have in common with the Eee PC is compact dimensions. Roughly the same size as a PS3, it’s small enough to sit on your TV rack, and the black finish won’t ugly up the place either.
Gamers are quite well catered for too, with a GeForce 8600M chip providing the graphical muscle. You can fit the PC with up to 4GB of RAM too.
No word on pricing or availability yet, although Asus says it will be out “soon”.
