Update: What? You didn’t realise this was an April Fools Day joke? Shame on you – still, let’s prolong the agony a little.

Hot on the heels of the Wii Fit balance board and Mario Kart’s comes Ninty’s next add-on, and he might look a bit familiar.
That’s because the new R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) is a re-make of the NES’ robotic pal, launched by Nintendo in the 80s.
As you’d expect, the new version uses Bluetooth to avoid the tangled wires of the original, and to sweeten the deal, Nintendo lets it piggy-back its wireless connection from an included Wiimote.
In a nod to the original R.O.B. the new version is able to sort objects using his hands and a Gyromite base attachment, but this time is able to move his head, and even emit sounds transmitted from the Wii.
Details on games that’ll support R.O.B. functionality are scarce, but one thing we do know is that it’ll be on sale in April, and you’d be a fool not to grab one!
