Credit to the guys at iLounge, their sharp eyes just spotted this icon within the iTunes store, hinting at an unreleased Apple product that, maybe, just maybe, could be the next-gen iPhone.
Hidden within the bowels of the store, the icon shows up on a page designed to allow individual developers to show off their iPhone applications.
iLounge Editor Jesse Hollington spotted the strange device first, noting that: “Unusually, the private page features an image of a touchscreen iPod/iPhone-style device with curves and a Home button-pressing dock never seen before; it is unclear whether this is meant to generically suggest iPod and iPhone compatibility, or represents a yet-to-be-announced Apple product.”
To be honest, we’re as confused as Jesse. We can’t understand why Apple would be mocking up fake products themselves, when there’s an army of fans online doing it already. But what to you think of the new device? Answers in the comments section below, if you please!
