Apple leaks are few and far between, but here’s a genuine one that’ll make fans of its metal-clad laptops very happy indeed: there’s a new MacBook Pro on the way, and soon.
The latest nugget of next-gen loveliness comes courtesy of an application called MiniBatteryLogger, which posts public battery tracking logs on the internet. Fun.
What’s interesting is an entry for “MacBookPro4,1″ rather than the current generation “MacBookPro3,1″.
Even better, the entry in question was sent from an Apple IP address, and our buddies at MacRumors.com say the same MacBook Pro reference pops up in the latest builds of OS X Leopard.
A release of a new MacBook Pro could be on the cards as early as next week, fans are speculating. Wallets at the ready, as they’re reported to be slimmer, lighter and pack the same multi-touch trackpads as the MacBook Air.
